Police are set to patrol a beauty spot in Snowdonia after high visitor numbers caused problems.

A significant amount of people have flocked to Llyn Padarn, Llanberis, in the last few days as temperatures have soared.

The lake’s popularity has created issues after the jetty yesterday became overloaded with youths looking to take a dip and buckled under the pressure.

Littering has also been a problem, with a video shared on Facebook this morning showing the large quantity of rubbish left behind by people at the site.

North Wales Police have now asked people to treat the area with respect.

They said: “As the weather has warmed up over the past few days and school holidays have started, the number of people visiting the pontoon in Llanberis has increased, we have seen an increase in ASB in the area.

“People are overloading the pontoon/jetty area causing it to buckle, keep away from this area.

“Please remember to treat the area with respect always think water safety and tidy up after yourself. Regular patrol’s will continue in the area.”
