Local residents have hit out over the large amount of rubbish left by visitors to a lake in Snowdonia.

Significant numbers of people have been drawn to Llyn Padarn, near Llanberis, over the last couple of days as temperatures have soared.

It has led to problems such as yesterday’s footage of the lake’s jetty tipping under the weight of those looking to cool off in the water.

A further video has been shared this morning of the huge quantity of litter left behind afterwards, with one person describing the scenes as “disgusting”.

Visitors are now being urged to make sure they take their litter home with them after efforts have been made to clean the area up.

Others have questioned whether more bins need to be provided or have called for enforcement action to take place.
