Police are investigating rumours circulating in Bangor that lone women are being followed by a group of men.

Despite no victims coming forward, enquiries are underway and officers are appealing to anybody who may have information, or to anybody who may have been a victim, to contact them immediately.

District Inspector Trystan Bevan said: “A number of enquiries have been undertaken so far, including reviewing CCTV however nothing untoward can be seen on any of the footage.

“Despite no victim(s) having yet made contact with us and nobody coming forward with information, we are putting a lot of resources into this so we need to establish if this is simply a rumour that is circulating the area or whether it is genuine.

“High visibility reassurance patrols will continue and anyone with information that can assist us should contact us on 101 or the live web chat.”
