Caernarfon man jailed for assaulting police officer and security staff

A man has been jailed for 26 weeks following an assault on a security staff member and emergency service worker.

Paul Jones, 39, of Llanbeblig Road, Caernarfon, assaulted a security guard at the Castle Hotel on the evening of 1st May last year and also attacked a police officer when he was arrested.

Yesterday, he was convicted of Section 47 assault, assault on an emergency worker and possession of cocaine.

Sergeant Kirsty Miller said: “We welcome the sentence imposed by the CPS. We hope this demonstrates that violence against those whose job it is to keep others safe will not be tolerated.”
