Two people have been taken to hospital after a house fire in Bangor.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service was called to a report of a fire at an address on Friars Avenue at 10.41am this morning.

Eight fire appliances attended the incident, together with an aerial ladder platform and an incident command unit.

The mid-terrace property was well alight on arrival and nearby properties are also affected.

A fire service spokesperson said: “All persons have evacuated. Two female casualties are attending hospital for treatment.

“Ambulance and police also attended and firefighters remain at the scene. Please avoid the area if possible.

“It is too early to determine the cause of the fire.”
