A school in Bangor has closed it’s canteen due to a staff member receiving a positive coronavirus test result.

The email to parents from Headteacher Neil Foden said, “A member of the canteen staff received a positive Covid test result at the weekend. We have no evidence that this was contracted in school and the timescale suggests it did not originate here.

“As a precaution we have decided not to wait for the outcome for track and trace, but have closed the canteen until further notice. It will be closed at break time. At lunch time packed lunches will be served to Free School Meals pupils. All others will need to be provided with packed lunches by parents.”

“Breakfast club will be moved to the hall but no food or drink will be provided.”

Some parents have been critical noting that the email communication had not been received, with others saying the communication had come too late to provide a lunch for today. One communication was sent to parents yesterday, however we are told it did not mention Covid-19.
