Denbighshire County Council has commissioned a specialist contractor to deep clean the block paving footways and pedestrian areas within Rhyl Town Centre.

The deep clean started on Thursday June 24 and is expected to be completed over a two-week period during early mornings and evenings to minimise disruption.

There will also be a follow up visit in early August to repeat the cleaning process.

This work will assist the council and be carried out in conjunction with additional measures that have recently been introduced in response to increased visitor numbers and footfall within our coastal resorts and areas of natural beauty.

This includes the deployment of additional street cleansing teams to provide longer service cover during evenings and at weekends.

DSB Cleaning Services is undertaking the work, a company who have previously carried out specialist cleansing work for the Council and within neighbouring authority areas.

The council is focusing on cleansing main travel links into the town centre, including the train station, bus station, pedestrianised areas to include the shelters on the promenade.

Activities include:

  • Pressure washing the pavements and pathways
  • Cleansing of all street furniture on the promenade and within the bus and train station entrances

Cllr Brian Jones, Lead Member for Waste, Transport and the Environment said: “The deep cleansing service will really spruce up Rhyl town centre and get it looking its best, whilst also helping us to keep on top of things more easily thereafter.

“All teams behind organising the cleansing work are doing a great job. We are proud of our towns and this work ensures that the local community feel more positive about their environment.”
