Police appeal over ‘traumatic and shocking’ attack on man in Bangor

Police are appealing for information after a man was violently attacked in Bangor in an attempted robbery.

The assault took place on The Crescent, Upper Bangor at approximately 5.45am on Tuesday 28th December 2021.

Following the incident the suspect ran off in the direction of College Road.

At present the suspect is only described as wearing grey baggy jogging bottoms.

Detective Sergeant Andy Davies, Western CID said: “The victim involved in this incident sustained a head injury that required urgent medical attention.

“It goes without saying that I have no doubts that this incident will have been very traumatic and shocking for them, and we are doing all we can to find the person responsible for this act and bring them to justice.

“The location in which the attack took place is a relatively busy area, frequented by local residents and the university student community.

“We are asking anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, or witnessed a person matching the description of the suspect on The Crescent or College Road areas of Bangor at the relevant time to contact North Wales Police.

“Any information you hold could be vital to our investigation.”
