Police are appealing for information after a parked lorry was targeted by thieves on Anglesey.

During the early hours of Friday morning, they slashed their way through the side curtain of a HGV parked in a layby on the A55.

The thieves gained access to the trailer while the driver was asleep in his cab and several boxes containing self-tanning products were stolen.

Detective Sergeant Bev Makanjee of North Wales Police said: “We are appealing to anybody who may have information regarding this incident, or anybody who may have been offered to purchase self-tanning products in suspicious circumstances to contact us immediately.

“We are also urging all HGV drivers and haulage companies to carry out regular vehicle checks, and to look out for any slash marks on the side curtains of trailers.

“Anybody with information regarding this incident, or anyone who witnesses suspicious behaviour around parked HGV’s should contact us immediately.”

Anybody with information that could assist with the ongoing investigation is urged to contact us via the website or by calling 101, quoting reference number 22000170632.
