Police have issued an alert over an increase in motorbike thefts in a coastal area of North Wales.

Officers have recently seen an increase in motorcycle thefts in the towns of Kinmel Bay and Towyn in Conwy County Borough.

Motorbike owners are being urged to take put security measures in place to prevent their vehicles from being stolen.

North Wales Police said: “Please make sure any motorcycles you own are as secure as possible and ideally kept in either the garage or under CCTV cameras if you have these facilities.

“Anyone with information to assist with identifying the motorcycle thieves please contact 101.”

The region’s police force said fitting security devices can help stop thieves from stealing your motorbike.

People are also encouraged to register their motorbike identification on the Immobilise website and to mark parts of their vehicle to make it hard to sell if stolen.

When parking your motorbike in the community, officers advise you should also try to park in areas which are likely to be covered by CCTV or high pedestrian footfall.
