More than 300,000 Covid-19 vaccines administered in North Wales with country as a whole on course to reach key target

More than 300,000 vaccines have now been administered across North Wales.

Figures released by Public Health Wales today also show that 1,122,931 first dose vaccines and 264,255 second doses have been administered across Wales.

Speaking at today’s Welsh Government press conference Wales’ Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr Chris Jones said more than 35 per cent of the adult population in Wales had received a first dose of a coronavirus vaccine and 10 per cent were fully vaccinated.

He added that Wales is on course to reach its target of offering a vaccine to all in the top nine priority groups by mid April, subject to vaccine availability.

Of those figures 317,033 (first and second doses combined) vaccines have been carried out by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

1,618 vaccines were administered across the region yesterday.

A breakdown of those who have received the vaccine in North Wales, can be found below:

• Older adult, care home residents: 6,504
• Care home workers: 17,573
• Those aged 80 year of age and over: 41,718
• Health care workers: 42,920
• Social care workers: 15,367
• All those 75 years of age and over: 36,223
• All those 70 years of age and over: 49,400
• High risk adults under 70 years of age: 16,831
• All those 65 years of age and over: 33,115
• Other (All North Wales residents under the age of 65 not included in the priority groups shown above): 57,381

In Wrexham 48,726 doses of the vaccines have been administered so far.

Conwy has administered the highest number in North Wales with 60,669 doses.

In Anglesey is has been 36,042 vaccines, Gwynedd 55,947, Denbighshire 47,707, Flintshire: 58,979 and Other 8,963.
