Man arrested for possessing offensive weapon after Holyhead assault

A man has been arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon following an assault in Holyhead.

The incident involving two men is reported to have happened on Victoria Road in the town at around 6.30pm last night (Tuesday March 12th).

It led to a 36-year-old man being arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of an offensive weapon.

He remains in custody whilst police enquiries are ongoing, with officers now seeking witnesses.

A North Wales Police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, have dashcam footage from the area or private CCTV footage to come forward.

“Anyone with information that may assist our investigation should contact police via our website or by calling 101, quoting reference 24000249193.”
