A lorry driver has been reported for careless driving after ignoring a contraflow system on the A55 near Llandudno.

Roadworks are currently in place on the dual carriageway with restrictions on wide loads.

However police said the driver caused “chaos” by choosing to ignore the safety measures and appears to have sent cones flying everywhere.

Officers from the North Wales Police roads policing unit said: “”This HGV driver carrying a wide load chose to ignore the contraflow which is in place on the A55 at Llandudno today, leaving chaos in his wake.

“The HGV was clearly far too wide for the roadworks, but he decided to chance it anyway. He was brought to a stop shortly after and reported for careless driving.”
