Police release names of two woman who died following a collision in Gwynedd on Wednesday

Police have released the names of two woman who sadly died in collision on the A487 near Gardolbenmaen earlier this week.

They are named as 59-year-old Anwen Mitchelmore and 84-year-old Nancy Roberts. They were Mother and Daughter and both were local to the Porthmadog area.

Sergeant Emlyn Hughes of the Roads Policing Unit is continuing to appeal for witnesses to the collision which happened at around 3:30pm.

He said: “Our heartfelt condolences remain with the families of both ladies who were tragically killed yesterday afternoon.

They are now being supported by a specially-trained Family Liaison Officer.

“I would also like to thank everyone who has contacted us so far with dash cam footage, however I continue to appeal to anybody who may have been travelling in the area at the time of the collision, and who is yet to make contact, to do so as soon as possible.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and anybody with information is urged to contact us quoting incident number Y100773.”

Anybody with information or dash cam footage is asked to contact officers at the Roads Policing Unit on 101 or via the live web chat.
