Conwy’s Planning Committee Advised to Reject Go-Kart Track Application at Cerrigydrudion

North Wales news and information

Conwy’s planning committee has been advised to throw out an application relating to a go-kart track at Cerrigydrudion.
If the planning application submitted by Mr Davies gets the go-ahead, the Go Kart Race Track at Glan y Gors will be allowed to open more often and make more noise.
But officers are advising councillors throw out the application when the planning committee meets at Bodlondeb next week.
A similar application was rejected earlier this year on the grounds of residential amenity and highway safety.
The go-kart business was granted planning permission to operate in 2001, but permission stipulated that noise levels must not exceed 78dB expressed as a 30-minute continuous sound level.
The new application, if granted, would allow noise to reach a level of 102db but no more.
If granted, the application would also see the number of race meetings increase.
The matter is set to be debated at next week’s planning committee meeting.
