He has been named as 63-year-old local farmer, Mr John Owen, who was driving his black coloured Isuzu Rodeo pick-up.
Sergeant Raymond Williams from the North Wales Police roads policing unit said: “The sudden and unexpected death following a road traffic collision is always a shock and I offer my profound condolences to Mr Owen’s family at this difficult time.
“The acting senior coroner for the area – Ms Katie Sutherland has been informed of the death.
“I am appealing to anyone who was travelling in the Llandyfrydog area at the time that witnessed the collision or may have dash-cam footage that shows the black Isuzu Rodeo prior to the collision to get in touch via webchat or by calling 101, quoting reference 21000526628.
