Drug driver caught speeding at 105mph on A55 in Denbighshire

Police have warned of the dangers of speeding after a drug driver was caught doing 105mph on the A55 in Denbighshire.

The motorist was stopped near St Asaph and also tested positive for cannabis.

Officers from the region’s roads policing unit described the offences as “a lethal combination”.

They said: “The difference of a few miles per hour can mean the difference between life and death.

“The faster someone is driving, the less time they have to stop if something unexpected happens.

“Driver of this car was caught on the A55 at St Asaph yesterday where we were conducting speed checks.

“When the vehicle was stopped the driver also tested positive for cannabis. A lethal combination.”
