A driver has failed a drugs test after being caught speeding at 97mph on the A55 near Bangor.

The man was stopped after passing police officers yesterday and also tested positive for cannabis.

He was issued with a ticket for speeding and arrested on suspicion of driving whilst under the influence of drugs.

Members of the region’s roads policing unit said: “He was later released under investigation and we now wait for the the results of a further blood test. There’s 2 of the Fatal 5 right there.

“Fatal 5 = the five fatal five causes of deaths and serious injuries on the roads of Wales.

“This includes drink/drug driving, driving without a seat belt, driving whilst using a mobile phone, speeding and driving carelessly.”
