Retrospective planning application submitted for classic car restoration business in Conwy County

North Wales news and information

A retrospective planning application has been submitted for a classic car restoration business in Conwy county.
Mr Williams of Williams Classic Cars has applied to Conwy County Council’s planning department, seeking permission for a retrospective change of use for land at Jacksonville, Towyn Way West, Towyn, into a classic car restoration business.
The application states that the business is already operating, but the applicant seeks permission to continue vehicle repairs, add a rear-side extension, office, and retain containers for storage.
The business’ website states, “Based in Conwy, North Wales, Williams Classics is a family-run business specialising in the best original and restored classic Land Rovers and classic cars on the market.
“Miles Williams has many years of experience trading in both Land Rovers and in the more general classic car market. The family have strong connections to some of the best-known restorers in the world and have an enviable Land Rover collection of their own.”
The site previously operated as a chicken house and was later used for storage.
The application states, “The site has been operated in its current use by the applicant since 2016 without complaint.”
The planning application will likely be discussed at a future planning committee meeting at Conwy County Council’s Bodlondeb HQ.
