Popular Colwyn Bay Pub Set to Open New Beer Garden at The Picture House

North Wales news and information

A popular Colwyn Bay pub is set to be granted permission for a new beer garden.
Planning officers are advising Conwy Council’s planning committee to grant permission for the beer garden at The Picture House on Princes Drive at a meeting next week.
The Wetherspoon pub is seeking permission to create the beer garden on vacant land next to the building, a former cinema.
The site is currently a brownfield site, and the chain needs permission for a change of use of the land.
If granted planning permission, the beer garden will be at the side of the building with a covered area, featuring stalls, heat lamps, and tables and chairs.
The fenced area would include a separate area for bins and recycling.
The beer garden’s use would reflect the pub’s opening hours.
The pub is currently open Monday to Friday 8am – 12am; Saturday 8am – 1am, and Sunday and bank holidays 8am – 12am.
Colwyn Bay Town Council didn’t object to the plans, and Conwy didn’t receive any letters from residents or businesses writing in opposition to the beer garden.
The debate will take place at Conwy’s planning committee meeting at Bodlondeb on Wednesday, October 9.
