Kinmel Kinspa Seeks Permission to Build Holiday Lodges on Adjacent Land

North Wales news and information

An Abergele hotel and spa complex hopes to build ‘high-quality’ holiday lodges on adjacent land.
The land next to The Kinmel Kinspa is currently being used for agriculture.
But representing the spa complex, Tom Morpeth has applied to Conwy County Council’s planning department, seeking permission to build on the area on St George Road in Abergele.
If granted permission, the spa will build nine lodges for short-term holiday accommodation.
The hotel wants to build two variations of three-bed lodges.
Both types will have a combined kitchen, dining, and living area and a bathroom. The lodges have three bedrooms with one en suite.
Each lodge will have a decking area and parking space.
The application states: “Future occupiers of the lodges would be able to make full use of the leisure and hospitality facilities available at The Kinmel.”
The site is outside any designated sensitive sites, including the Rhyd y Foel to Abergele Area of Special Interest.
The plans include internal access, landscaping, and associated works and could create a further four part-time jobs at the hotel.
The planning application has been registered with Conwy, but neighbours are yet to be consulted.
The application will likely be debated at a future planning committee meeting at Conwy’s Bodlondeb HQ.
