Llandudno Golf Club’s Plans for New Toilet Block Approved by Council

A Llandudno golf club’s plans for a new toilet block have been unanimously approved by Conwy County Council’s planning committee.
Maesdu Golf Club sought permission for a new toilet and storage building at the club on Hospital Road.
The plans include a septic tank and soakaway.
The site is on council-owned land, meaning the application had to be considered by the planning committee.
The land is outside the settlement boundary and falls within the designated Great Orme and Creuddyn Peninsula Special Landscape Area and green wedge, also forming part of the Creuddyn and Conwy Historic Landscape.
Planning officers had recommended that the application be approved subject to conditions.
Cllr Nia Owen proposed that the committee approve the application.
She said: “We welcome the growth and development in sports clubs. So I propose we agree and approve this application.”
Cllr Austen Roberts seconded the proposal.
He said: “As someone who intends to take up golf after retiring, I am happy to second this proposal.”
The toilet block will be finished with dark grey cladding and a dark grey roof, with black UPVC windows and external doors.
The plans also include a compacted porous gravel access path, as well as a below-ground septic tank and soakaway.
Two bird boxes and a bat box will also be installed on the outside walls of the building.
The committee voted unanimously in favour of the application.
