A section of the A55 was temporarily closed this morning after a sheep strayed close to the carriageway.

Traffic officers blocked the road off heading eastbound at the Penmaenbach tunnel just after 11am.

The road was reopened shortly after as the wandering sheep was moved on.

Traffic Wales tweeted: “We’ve put a temporary block on the #A55 heading Eastbound at the Penmaenbach tunnel to remove a sheep that has strayed close to the carriageway.”

They later added: “The sheep has now been relocated and the road has reopened to traffic. Thank you for your patience.”
