A youth who damaged an outdoor classroom area in Ruthin has been made to repair it following the use of restorative justice.

Earlier this year, damaged was caused to facilities at a primary school in the town.

The local youth responsible was identified and last weekend spent the day repairing and sprucing up the area under the guidance of a representative from Denbighshire Council.

North Wales Police said: “According to feedback the young man worked extremely hard and was able to personally apologise for what he had done resulting in them getting on famously.

“Restorative justice as it was intended and as the council representative commented ‘a great way to resolve the issue !'”
