A woman is in hospital with serious, life threatening injuries following a collision on the A55 near Llanddulas last night.

Shortly before 9pm police were called to a report of a crash involving a white coloured Vauxhall Corsa on the eastbound carriageway where the car had left the road and had come to a stop in wooded area.

The emergency services attended and the woman was taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd in Bodelwyddan by ambulance. She has since been transferred to hospital in Stoke.

PC Richard Witham of the Roads Policing Unit is appealing to anybody who may have witnessed the collision to come forward. He said: “We’re keen to speak to anybody who may have seen the Corsa being driven just prior to the collision or anybody who was travelling in the area and who may have dash cam to contact us.

“Anybody with information that could assist with the investigation is asked to contact officers at the Roads Policing Unit quoting reference number Y059138.”
