A woman arrested in connection with the murder of a man in Holyhead has been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.

David John Jones died as a result of extensive head injuries after an attack in the Thomas Street/Mount Pleasant area of the town last Tuesday.

The 58-year-old, known locally as DJ, was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital, but despite the best efforts of medical teams he tragically died on Thursday night.

Two men appeared in court yesterday charged with his murder

Meanwhile, a forensic examination of the scene is ongoing in Thomas Street.

Detective Chief Inspector Brian Kearney said: “Following our recent appeal for witnesses, I would like to thank the public for their excellent response.

“I would encourage anyone else who saw Mr Jones unsteady on his feet between Holborn Road, Victoria Road and Thomas Street between 10am and 11am on Tuesday 17th of November 2020, or who has any other relevant information in relation to this murder enquiry to contact North Wales Police.”
