Police have warned residents in Rhyl to be on their guard after a spate of “sickening” burglaries in the town.

Officers said on each occasion quantities of jewellery have been taken which hold a sentimental value, including engagement rings and gold necklaces.

The latest in the series of five incidents, where houses have been targeted, happened in Tarquin Drive sometime between 11am and 2pm yesterday.

Detective Inspector Elfyn Hughes said: “These are sickening crimes at any time, but at Christmas and with pressures of Covid restrictions it is a cruel intrusion into someone’s home.”

“We are asking the public to remain vigilant in the Rhyl area and request members of the community who have information about the offences or the offender/s to please come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Central CID on 101 or use the live webchat quoting reference 20000774314.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
