Visitors from as far afield as Kent, Southampton and Solihill have been turned away from Snowdonia as police continue their patrols.

Officers have been maintaining a high visibility presence in the area with a number of breaches of Covid-19 regulations reported today.

Enforcement action is being taken with all of Wales currently under alert level 4 restrictions to stop the spread of the virus.

The rules mean that people must stay at home, except for very limited purposes.

North Wales Police said: “Please do not travel for exercise.

“Think of your actions – if you get into difficulties you are risking our mountain rescue volunteers and emergency services with your unnecessary and selfish behaviour.

“We all need to work together and it’s up to all of us to do the right thing.”
