Two police officers assaulted in Anglesey public order incidents sparked by alcohol

North Wales news and information

Two police officers were assaulted while dealing with alcohol-related public order incidents on Anglesey this weekend.

It comes as North Wales Police has reported having a busy weekend on the island, with eleven people arrested between Friday and Sunday night.

In a post on Facebook, the region’s police force said offences ranged from assault and criminal damage to drink driving and harassment.

Two arrests have been made in relation to the assaults on police.

The NWP Anglesey team said: “Officers dealt with a few public order incidents where some people unfortunately had too much to drink and couldn’t control themselves.

“Two police officers were assaulted dealing with such incidents and two males have been arrested and bailed for a CPS charging decision.

“We’re currently investigating a report of burglary on Field Street, Llangefni, so a reminder to secure all windows and doors when leaving your property.”
