Two due in court on fraud charges as part of investigation into Anglesey crossbow murder
Two people are due to appear in court on fraud charges following an investigation carried out in the wake of a crossbow murder on Anglesey.
Gerald Corrigan was shot dead with an arrow at Gof Du, Penrhos Feliw while trying to fix his TV aerial on Good Friday in 2019.
Terence Whall, 39, of Bryngwran, Anglesey, was found guilty of killing him earlier this year and handed a life sentenced following a trial at Mold Crown Court.
A parallel fraud investigation was launched after Mr Corrigan’s death with a small dedicated enquiry team.
As part of the investigation, a file was subsequently submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service earlier this year.
A 49-year-old Anglesey man and his partner, a 50-year-old woman, have now been summonsed to appear at Caernarfon Magistrates Court on Thursday, 13th August.
Ds Arwel Hughes said: “Following consultation with lawyers at the Crown Prosecution Service, a local man has been summonsed for six offences of fraud by false representation contrary to Sections 1 and 2 of the Fraud Act 2006.
“The man’s partner has been summonsed for a money laundering offence contrary to sections 328(1) and 334 of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.”
Police said Mr Corrigan’s family have been fully updated and are asking people to respect their privacy.
