Two arrested in police operation targeting North Wales county lines drug dealers
Two men have been arrested following a joint operation in Gwynedd targeting county lines drug dealers.
North Wales Police officers teamed up with colleagues from Merseyside Police in a day of action yesterday as part of Operation Medusa, which is aimed at cracking down on the supply of illegal substances into North Wales.
Officers targeted areas in Bangor, Bethesda and Caernarfon which resulted in a 33-year-old man being arrested on suspicion of money laundering and assaulting an emergency service worker and a 26-year-old man being arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply.
There were also several positive stop searches for possession offences.
Sergeant Andy Davies said: “We have a close working relationship with our north west colleagues and continue to share resources and intelligence to disrupt county lines.
“Our aim is to make Gwynedd north a hostile environment for those involved in the supply of drugs.
“We continue to target any individuals who operate county lines. They do not respect borders, the communities they bring harm and misery to, or the vulnerable people they exploit in the pursuit of illegal proceeds of crime.”
