Safety warning after large emergency team rescues child from beach rocks in Gwynedd

North Wales news and information

A safety warning has been issued after a large emergency service team rescued a child stuck among rocks in Gwynedd.

Police, fire service, coastguard and other services were called to Tywyn Beach on Sunday.

Pictures of the scene appear to show a digger being used to help free the child.

Police are now urging people to be cautious when playing on the beach.

North Wales Police said: “On Sunday, police officers from Dolgellau assisted in a multi agency rescue where a child had got trapped in some rocks on Tywyn Beach.

“Thank you to the local contractors and all agencies involved.

“Remember that rock armour is installed for coastal defence and can be very dangerous – take care on the coast!”
