Police are urging residents in Caernarfon to be vigilant after a cold calling incident in the area over the weekend.

It was reported that unknown individuals claiming to be collecting money for charity attended an address and requested bank details from the resident.

Local officers said: “Our advice is to politely say ‘no, thank you’ and close the door to this kind of visitor.

“A general rule of thumb to follow is to keep your doors locked even if you are in the house.

“Please remain vigilant for cold calling and share advice with elderly family members and neighbours not to share their bank details with anyone.

“If you have concerns around cold calling in your area, contact police via our website or by calling 101. Further advice can be found on our website.”
