Police swoop to catch burglars in Conwy after property owner spots them on Ring doorbell

Two men are in police custody this morning after being arrested following a report of a burglary in progress in Conwy last night (Monday, December 19).

Officers received a 999 call at 9.50pm after the owner of a property on Llanrwst Road saw, via his Ring doorbell, that two people had forced entryand left a short time later.

A large number of police teams were sent to the area, including local police, the dog section, the drone team, firearms officer and National Police Air Service helicopter and a search was carried out.

North Wales Police said: “Following a search in an extremely rural location, two suspects were located via the helicopter’s heat source. Officers were guided to them and they were promptly arrested.

“The 44 and 26-year-old men were both arrested on suspicion of burglary and both remain in police custody.
