Police serve closure order on address on Anglesey following reports of underage drinking and Covid breaches
A closure order has been served on an address on Anglesey following reports of anti-social behaviour.
North Wales Police said the order was granted for a property in Maes Hyfryd, Llanfairpwllgwygyll after numerous complaints about underage drinking and Covid breaches.
Under the order, which was made yesterday by Llandudno Magistrates Court, only one named adult will be allowed at the address for specific reasons. A visible order is placed on the property.
The order is in place until June 30th 2021 and breaching the order can incur a six month prison sentence, a fine of up to £5,000 or both.
Police on the island said: “Anglesey Policing Team takes anti-social behaviour seriously and statement of evidence obtained from the community assisted us in presenting the case to a court and maximising the use of legislation under the Anti Social Behaviour act 2014.
“This act extends to privately owned properties.
“We have not taken this approach lightly as we have requested the court to place restrictions on a person’s home.
“However we have a duty to protect the wider community.
“If you are concerned about anti-social behaviour in your area, request to speak to your local PCSO on 101, via webchat or call crime stoppers 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
