Police seize e-scooter from man who rode along prom in Colwyn Bay despite warning
Police have seized an e-scooter from a man who rode along the prom in Colwyn Bay despite being warned not to.
Officers spotted the man riding in the area yesterday, which is currently not legal on public land.
A warning was issued but he was later stopped again by local officers and his e-scooter was subsequently seized.
North Wales Police said: “E-scooters have increased in popularity over recent years but they are currently only legal to ride on private land with the landowner’s permission, or as part of a government trial. North Wales, at present, is NOT part of these trials.
“We understand that buying an e-scooter can be tempting, especially as you can buy them from many popular retailers. However, the current law is clear:
“You can buy one but you can’t ride it on a public road, cycle lane or pavement.
“E-scooters can only be used on private land with the permission of the landowner.”
