Police officer assaulted and vehicle window smashed following disorder incident in Colwyn Bay

A police officer was assaulted whilst attending a disorder incident in Colwyn Bay over the weekend.

The windscreen of a police vehicle was also smashed during the incident on Abergele Road in the early hours of Sunday morning.

North Wales Police said a number of men were involved and described the incident as “disappointing”.

The force posted on Facebook: “Just over a week since the launch of the #WithUsNotAgainstUs campaign and it’s disappointing to report that yet another officer has been assaulted whilst trying to do his job.

“A police vehicle is also off the road due to having it’s windscreen smashed during the incident which happened in Colwyn Bay during the early hours of yesterday morning when officers were responding to disorder on Abergele Road involving a number of males.

“Emergency services are committed to doing all that we can to serve the public.

“We can only effectively do our jobs if people work with us and not against us.”
