Police issue warning over racial hatred after incident in Pwllheli

Police have issued a warning to anyone causing racial hatred following an incident in Pwllheli.

Officers attended Asda on Sand Street in the town at around 2.30pm yesterday (Monday August 19th) following reports of a “hate related incident”.

A 47-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence.

He has since been bailed subject to conditions whilst police enquiries continue.

PC Mitchell from North Wales Police said: “We do not tolerate racial hatred in our communities and will act on all reports.

“We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed or been involved in the incident to contact police.

“I am also appealing to anyone who may have footage of the incident or of the surrounding area at the time to contact us.”
