Police have issued a warning following concerns over drivers jumping the red light at a level crossing in Gwynedd.

Officers said that vehicles have been ignoring the traffic lights at the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway.

North Wales Police has now urged people not to put their safety in danger.

Posting on Facebook, the Gwynedd South policing team said: “We’d like to remind road users that not only is this dangerous as there may be an oncoming train, but if you drive through a red light you will be liable for a fine and points on your licence.

“The red lights are for the safety of drivers and pedestrians. Please don’t take the risk just to get somewhere a bit faster.”
