Police issue statement following concerns over assault in Penycae

Police have released a statement after concerns were raised over an assault in Penycae.

The incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday morning near the football club in Penycae between 12am and 1am.

Officers have confirmed an investigation has been launched and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

Acting Inspector Sophie Ho said: “I am aware of concerns within the local community in Penycae over a police presence in the area following a report of a recent assault.

“I would like to reassure residents that our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and for reassurance purposes, patrols have been increased in the area.”
