Police have issued a dispersal order in Rhyl after slamming the “unacceptable behaviour” of youths in the town.

Officers said they dealt with numerous youths causing anti-social behaviour in the town centre yesterday evening.

They said their actions were impacting the quality of life members of the public going about their lawful business.

To prevent further bad behaviour, a dispersal order was granted effective from 7pm yesterday until 7pm today covering the area shown on the map above.

Police Sergeant Matt Jones said: “North Wales Police will target those causing or likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress by giving a direction to leave the area.

“If this direction is refused or ignored, the police have a power to take any person under the age of 16 who is within a group of 2 or more persons back to the home address or another place of safety.

“Further enforcement action may follow if that individual returns to the area defined by the dispersal order.

“I would like to reassure the community that the above power is being used to target those causing harm to our community and not those whom are carrying out their lawful business.”
