Police say they are “extremely concerned” for the safety of a man from Anglesey who hasn’t been seen since the weekend.

James Clarke from Aberffraw was last spotted in the Newborough on Sunday (November 8) at approximately 8.20pm, heading onto the A4080 in an unknown direction.

Search teams are now assisting in the bid to locate him with residents being asked to check sheds and outbuildings.

Chief Inspector Owain Llewelyn said: “We are extremely concerned about James’s welfare and extensive searches are being conducted by colleagues from MONSAR and SARDA.

“I am asking for residents, especially those living between Newborough and Aberffraw to support this search by checking any sheds, outbuildings or barns in which someone could have taken refuge.

“I would also ask anyone that has CCTV footage of the A4080 between Newborough and Aberffraw or who picked up or saw anyone walking along the A4080 after 8.20pm on Sunday 8th November to make contact with North Wales Police, via 101 or our live webchat quoting log number 35463.”
