Police are appealing for information after six chickens were killed in a dog attack in Bangor.

The incident took place in the Vaynol Park area at around 4.40pm on Monday (August 28th).

The chickens were killed by a black dog, possibly of a spaniel breed, which was loose and off its lead on the poultry owner’s land.

A member of North Wales Police’s rural crime team said on Facebook: “Livestock attacks are covered under the Dogs (protection of livestock) Act 1953 and in this case, it is an offence to be in charge, or be the owner of a dog, that has attacked chickens.

“If you are the owner of the dog involved, or have any information in relation to the incident, please contact us on 101, or via the website, using reference number A138961.”
