Picture shows children’s lucky escape after playing chicken in front of police car

A picture has been released showing the moment two children nearly got ran over after deciding to play chicken in front of a police car.

Luckily the driver of a white vehicle travelling on the other side of the road in Abergele managed to brake just in time to avoid hitting them.

Officers hailed the skill of the other motorist, but said the outcome could have been very different after sharing the image taken on the dash cam of their car this afternoon.

Posting on Facebook, they said: “The driver of the white vehicle showed amazing reactions and skill in Abergele a short time ago after 2 kids decided they wanted to play chicken in front of a police car.

“They have to thank the driver that they are not injured! This could have been a different story.”
