Caernarfon: Firefighters damping down following fire at a recycling unit on Cibyn industrial estate

Update: The fire service has said “crews are now damping down and the advice to shut windows as a precaution is no longer in force. Thank you for your cooperation.”

Earlier report: North Wales Fire Service has urged residents to close windows and doors as they tackle a fire at an industrial estate.

Crews were called to a blaze at a recycling unit on Cibyn industrial estate in Caernarfon, at around 2am.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “We are dealing with an incident on the Cibyn industrial estate, Caernarfon. Please keep your windows shut until we get it under control.”

Roads near the scene remain open.

North Wales Police posted on social media: “Our colleagues at North Wales Fire & Rescue Service are currently dealing with an incident on Cibyn Industrial Estate, Caernarfon.

Local residents are requested to keep their doors and windows closed whilst they deal with the fire and bring the smoke under control.”
