North Wales news and information

A motorcyclist has been charged with drink driving after being arrested in Llandudno Junction.

Police received a report of a man riding a motorbike whilst intoxicated shortly before midnight on Tuesday.

The bike was found and a rider stopped on the Tremarl Industrial Estate. He provided a positive roadside breath test and was taken into custody.

A 30-year-old man from Colwyn Bay was later charged with drink driving and driving without insurance aand will appear before Llandudno Magistrates Court on June 19th. His motorcycle was seized.

A North Wales Police spokesperson said: “This week we’re supporting the national ‘2 Wheels’ campaign which highlights motorcycle and bicycle safety on the roads.

“Organised by the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC), the week aims to raise awareness about how to improve driver and rider behaviour in the name of safety. Not drink driving would help.”
