A man who carried out a serious attack at a block of flats in Bangor has been jailed for three years.

David Brian John, 35, has been sentenced after pleading guilty to grievous bodily harm.

He also admitted to breaching a criminal behaviour order, which has now been extended for a further five years.

Detective Inspector Andy Gibson said: “On the 22nd April 2020, David Brian John assaulted a vulnerable male inside a block of flats in Maesgeirchen, Bangor.

“He repeatedly punched the male and caused serious internal head injury.

“The imprisonment of this dangerous individual is welcome news for the local community – this was a vicious and sustained attack on a vulnerable person.”
