Man attacked after being subjected to homophobic abuse in Bangor

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked after being subjected to homophobic abuse in Bangor city centre.

The incident, which has been described by officers as a “hate motivated assault”, took place on the High Street on Friday evening.

At approximately 10.45pm, homophobic abuse was directed at the victim outside the Y Ranch bar, before he was assaulted further down the road.

North Wales Police said: “If you witnessed the altercation, or have any information concerning the incident, we urge you to come forward by using our LiveChat facility, or by calling 101, quoting reference 22000050620.”
