Jewellery was taken from the home of an elderly woman in Rhyl during a burglary.

Police are appealing for information after four pairs of gold earrings, a gold necklace with a pendant and a pair of silver diamond earrings were stolen from a house in the Marsh Road area.

A distinctive sapphire, diamond and gold antique necklace was also taken during the incident, which happened at around 5.30pm on Friday.

DC 2945 Michael Starkey said: “The gold is old Maltese gold and has a sentimental value to the victim.

“It was a busy time of day and we believe someone may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the area.”
