Investigation launched after body of man discovered following house fire in Prestatyn

A joint fire service and police investigation has been launched after the body of a man was found following a fire at a house in Prestatyn this morning.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a house fire at a detached bungalow on Stephen Road, Prestatyn just before 9.10am on Tuesday, 15 March.

The fire service said the body of a man believed to be in his 70s was found inside the property.

Justin Evans from North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, said: “My deepest condolences are with the family and friends of this gentleman.

“A joint investigation is now being carried out into the cause of the fire by North Wales Fire and Rescue Service and North Wales Police.”
